Abstract:

Two cytotoxic cyclicpentapeptides (1 and 2) and four benzene derivatives (3-6) have been isolated from the marine-derived fungus Rhizopus sp. 2-PDA-61. By spectral analysis and comparison the data with those of known compounds, they were identified as malformin C (1), malformin A1 (2), 2, 5-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid methyl ester (3), p-hydroxy phenylethanol (4), p-methyl phenylethanol (5), and p-dimethoxybenzene (6), respectively. Moreover, compounds 1 and 2 displayed moderate cytotoxicities to P388 cell lines, and the IC50 values of them were 1.8 μM and 4.2 μM.
