Abstract: Ten compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and HPLC from the leaves and twigs of Garcinia multiflora. Their structures were identified as sampsonione L (1),hyperibone G (2),garcicowin C (3),isogarcinol (4),garcinialone (5),clovane-2,9-diol (6),caryolane-1,9-β-diol (7),isopimpinellin (8),1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene (9) and 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethoxyacetophenone (10) by physicochemical properties and spectral data.Compounds 1-4 and 6-10 were isolated from the titled plant for the first time, and compounds 1-2 and 6-9 were firstly reported from the genus Garcinia. Five polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols (1-5) were evaluated for the cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activities and compounds 3-5 showed moderate cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activities.

Key words: Garcinia multiflora, hemical constituents, polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols, cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activities
