Abstract: The seedlings of Polygala tenuifolia Willd.were under different treatments, including natural light group (CK),single shading network group (30% natural light) and double shading network group (10% natural light),and were collected after 15 d,30 d and 60 d respectively.Related physiological indexes and phenylpropanoid constituents in P.tenuifolia were then detected to investigate the effects of light intensity on physiological indexes and phenylpropanoid constituents in P.tenuifolia. The results showed that, the activity of peroxidase (POD) were significantly correlated with the content of 3,6′-disinapoyl sucrose (DISS).It indicated that, both of them may had a synergistic effect on fighting against oxidative damage.Short term shade can increase the content of DISS.This study provided the basis for standardized cultivation of P.tenuifolia.
