Abstract: The static adsorption and desorption behaviors of four macroporous resins (AB-8,D101,X-5,NKA-II ) for enriching rosmarinic acid (RA) from Rosmarinus offinalis L.leaves were investigated.AB-8 was selected as the favorable resin, according to adsorption capacity, desorption capacity, adsorption rate and desorption rate. The effect of temperature and time on the static adsorption of AB-8,as well as,the effect of temperature and ethanol concentration on the static desorption of AB-8 were then investigated. The process of static adsorption was analyzed through kinetics and thermodynamics. The results showed that the pseudo-second-order kinetics model,Langmuir equation and Freundlich equation can be applied in representing the adsorption process.Ethanol concentration was the key factor on desorption rate of RA on AB-8 resin.
