Abstract: Chinese herbal medicines have been considered as safe and effective without serious toxic and side effects for a long time.However,in recent years,with reports of serious kidney adverse events caused by Aristolochia debilis, A. manshuriensis and other Chinese herbal medicines,nephrotoxicities have attracted more and more scholars’ attention at home and abroad.In this paper,according to the chemical components of Chinese herbal medicine,the clinical manifestations,pathological changes,pathogenesis,prevention and treatment measures of nephrotoxicity of 8 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine components,such as organic acids,glycosides,toxic proteins,alkaloids,terpenes,lignans,flavonoids,anthraquinone,are described one by one in this article.
