Abstract:

Bacterial contamination is closely related to human survival. With the increase of multidrug-resistant bacteria, improvement of antibacterial performance of antibacterial agents and inhibition of bacterial spread, infection have become hot issues in the field of antimicrobial research. The inclusion effect of the host-guest recognition of β-cyclodextrin with antibacterial agents can enhance the physicochemical properties and antimicrobial performance of antibacterial agents and has attracted much attention.β-Cyclodextrin has a special structure with internal hydrophobicity and external hydrophily, and the hydrophobic cavity can selectively recognize and encapsulate hydrophobic guest molecules antimicrobial agents matching cavity size to improve the physicochemical properties of antibacterial agents. This review summarizes the effects of host-guest recognition of β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives with organic and natural antimicrobial agents on physicochemical and antimicrobial properties, analyzes the inclusion mechanism of host-guest recognition and the role between the host and the guest, thus systematically summarizes antibacterial effect of the inclusion complex on different bacteria and current research status in medicine, textile, food and other fields to provide a reference for the further research and application of host-guest recognition of cyclodextrin with antibacterial agents.
