Study on Agarwood ‘Qinan’ in Yuenan by GCMS

Abstract: In order to study the characteristic of volatile constituents from ‘baiqinan’ sample in Yuenan,and compared the similarities and differences with ‘lvqinan’,the volatile constituents and relative contents of ‘baiqinan’ and ‘lvqinan’ samples in Yuenan were analyzed by GCMS.The results were as follows:twentyfour chromatographic peaks were detected in the two samples.The ether extract yields and the total relative amounts of 2(2phenylethyl)chromone and 2[2(4methoxylphenylethyl)]chromone were in the range of Qinan agarwood.It was found that the relative amounts of 2[2(4methoxylphenylethyl)]chromone was higher than the relative amounts of 2(2phenylethyl)chromone in the ether extract of Qinan agarwood.The relative amount of ()guaia1(10),11dien15,2olide was maximum of sesquiterpenes in the ether extract of ‘baiqinan’ agarwood.
