Abstract:

Six compounds were isolated and purified from Loropetalum chinense (R.Br.) oliver by using silica gel,ODS,and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and their structures were determined on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis. They were identified as trans-phytol (1),glycerol 1-(14-methlpentadecanoate) (2),methyl-(7R,8R)-4-hydroxy-8',9'-dinor-4',7-epoxy-8,3'-neolignan-7'-ate (3),trans-p-coumaric acid ethyl ester (4),laricinolic acid (5),tiliroside (6). All of these compounds except 1 were isolated from this plant for the first time. Moreover,it is the first time to report 2 and 3 from the genus Loropetalum.
