Abstract:

To study the inhibition effect of Albizia julibrissin extracts on neovascularization, the effect of A. julibrissin extracts on the proliferation of endothelial cell (HMEC) in vitro and tube formation on Matrigel in vivo were examined by MTT assay and Matrigel plug assay. Therapeutic effect of A. julibrissin extracts on mice with Lewis lung cancer was observed. It was resulted that the proliferation of HMECs was inhibited significantly by A. julibrissin extracts in a dose-dependent manner (IC50 = 30 μg/mL). It also inhibited angiogenesis in Matrigel plug of mouse model and the growth and metastasis of Lewis lung carcinoma in mice. We found that A. julibrissin extracts, which can inhibit angiogenensis obviously, could be developed as a promising antiangiogenic drug.
