Abstract: To optimize the dynamic adsorption and desorption process parameters for sapindus-saponins onto AB-8 resin, the monofactorial experiments were used to analyze the effects of the process parameters on the saturated adsorption capacity, the recovery yield and the purity of the sapindus-saponins. The results showed that the saturation adsorption capacity of sapindus-saponins on AB-8 resin achieved 568 mg/g when the crude sapindus- saponins water extracts (pH4.5) ?owed through the resin column (the ratio of height to diameter 5.4:1) at 1 mL/min. The elution parameters were as follows: 1.5 BV 95% ethanol aqueous solutions at 1 mL/min. The sapindus-saponins content in the ?nal product was 93% with a recovery yield of 83.48%. In addition, the stability of AB-8 resin was fine after eight-time recycled. This method could provide a potential approach for large-scale separation and puri?cation of sapindus-saponins for its wide pharmaceutical use.
