Abstract: To study the chemical constituents from the roots of Scrophularia ningpoensis Hems,the constituents were isolated by silica gel column chromatography,chromatorex chromatography,Sephadex LH20 chromatography and preparative HPLC.On the basis of spectral data and physiochemical properties,the structures of 15 known compounds were identified as:harpagoside (1),harpagide (2),ajugol (3),6-O-methycatalpol (4),geniposide (5),6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosylaucubin (6),ningpogenin (7),liquiritigenin (8),di-2-ethyl hexyl phthalate (9),maltose (10),ursolic acid (11),glycerol (12),5-hydroxy methyl furfural(13),daucosterol (14) and β-sitosterol (15).Compound 3,6,8,9,10 and 12 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
