Abstract: A total of 112 strains of endophytic fungi were isolated from the medicinal plant Pueraria lobata, their antimicrobial activity were investigated. The results showed that endophytic fungi J5-2,J100-2 and J31-3 had remarkable antimicrobial activities to bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi.J100-2 had varying degrees of antimicrobial activities against 5 plant pathogenic fungi including Valsa mali. It showed that J100-2 had a wide antimicrobial spectrum.J100-2 was identified by its morphological features and phylogenetic analysis based on internal transcribed spacer of rRNA gene sequence comparison.Fungal morphological and molecular identification demonstrated that J100-2 represented Phoma macrostoma.
