Studies on Anti-inflammatory Effect of Yulangsan Extracts

Abstract: The objective of this study was to observe the anti-inflammatory effects of total Yulangsan water extract (TYLS),and three components (flavonoids,saponin and polysaccharide) extracted and purified from the roots of Yulangsan (YLS).Croton oil-induced ear swelling,carrageenan-induced hind paw edema,and the cotton granuloma in mice were prepared to investigate the effect of TYLS and three purified components on inflammation.The results showed that TYLS and the three components remarkably inhibited the mouse croton oil-induced ear swelling,carrageenan-induced hind paw edema and formation of cotton granuloma.These data suggested that TYLS and the three purified components had anti-inflammatory effects.
