Abstract: A total of ten accessions of Miscanthus were selected to analyze the content of chemical composition of lignocellulosic biomass including cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. The results showed that the difference were significant(F>F0.01)among the ten samples in content of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. On the other hand, the pyrolysis process was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and apparent activation energies were compared by chemical kinetics among ten Miscanthus accessions. The results showed pyrolysis energies were obviously different among the different accessions. The four accessions, Miscanthus x giganteus, Miscanthus lutarioriparius,  W819 and Miscanthus lutarioriparius (tetraploid),showed higher activation energy.According to energy use related quality characters, these accessions can be applied to different ways of conversion and utilization.
