Abstract: Eleven compounds were obtained from the fermentation broth of the strain Streptomyces sp. YIM801, which was isolated from Elephas maximus feces,by using silica gel,RP-18,and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. On the basis of spectral data and physicochemical properties, their structures were identified as cyclo-(Phe-Val) (1), cyclo-(Leu-Val) (2), N-acetyltryptamine (3), N-acetyltyramine (4), 5′-O-acetylthymidine (5), 2′-deoxyuridine (6), 2-minaline (7), 2,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol (8), 2,5-dihydroxy benzene methanol methyl ether (9), 2-methoxyhydroqunone (10),hydroxybenzyl alcohol (11).All of the compounds were isolated from Streptomyces sp.from Elephas maximus feces for the first time.
