Developments of Separation,Purification and Quality Control for the Chemical Constitutions of Tussilago farfara

Abstract: The flower buds of Tussilago farfara was called as “Kuan Donghua” in China.It contained terpenoids,flavonoids,alkaloids and other phytochemicals,also known well as traditional Chinese medicine to treat expectorant,cough,asthma and so on.Based on the brief introduction of the phytochemical profiles and pharmacological effects of flower buds of Tussilago farfara, the latest research and developments was focused on in this paper,especially the separation and purification methods of active chemical components,analytical test methods and quality control standards for flower buds of Tussilago farfara. The information would provide the foundation of further research,development and utilization of the flower buds of Tussilago farfara.
