Nutrient Content in Six Chinese Herbal Residues

Abstract: With the large scale development and utilization of Chinese herbal resources,a large number of Chinese herbal residues (CHR) are produced from Chinese medicine enterprises.In order to explore the reused value of CHR,the contents of routine nutrients,trace elements and amino acids (AA) of six common CHR in the market were determined.Results showed that the residue of Gold Theragran had the highest content of crude protein (16.46%);the residue of Fuke Qianjin tablets had the highest contents of crude ash (12.56%),crude fiber (70.70%),acid detergent fiber (56.35%) and neutral detergent fiber (44.86%).The contents of amino acids of all the CHR were 5.92%-14.92%.These data suggested that the six CHR had various nutritional values and,as raw materials,can be used for the development of animal feed additives.
