Abstract: An actinomycete strain Stremptmeces costaricanus SCSIO ZS0073 producing strongly antibacterial metabolites was isolated from the soil collected in Hongsha park.Guided by antibacterial assay, its fermentation was isolated and purified by Silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC.Three compounds were obtained, which were identified as actinomycin D(1),actinomycin XO-β(2) and fungichromin(3) by MS and NMR spectroscopic analysis. The output of actinomycin D was more than 300 mg/L,even under nonoptimized growth conditions.

Key words: mangorove-derived actinomycetes, antibacterial activity, secondary metabolites, actinomycins, fungichromin
