Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of SongJieFang (SJF) extracts, especially the inhibitory effect on rheumatoid arthritis, and to explore its mechanism.Three artificially induced models were used to evaluate the effects, including Murine Ear Edema Model induced by xylene,Murine Pain Model induced by acetic acid and Rat Rheumatoid Arthritis Model induced by chicken collagen II.The levels of TNF-α,INF-γ,IL-10 and IL-1β in serum were detected and the histopathological changes of the ankle joint were observed. The results showed that SJF extract can reduce the inflammation and pain of the above model, inhibit the inflammatory cell infiltration and tissue hyperplasia in synovium in Rat Rheumatoid Arthritis Model, and significantly decrease the serum TNF-α and INF-γ,IL-1β levels, but increased serum IL-10 levels. These results suggested that SJF extract can inhibit the arthritis in Rat Rheumatoid Arthritis Model and reduce the degree of joint injury. The mechanism may be related to the regulation of inflammatory factor expression.
