Abstract: To investigate the effect and mechanism of phytic acid (IP6) on the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells,we performed MTT,clone formation and TUNEL staining to detect the effect of phytic acid on proliferation and apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells;Western blot was detected the expression of apoptosis-related proteins caspase3,PARP,Cyt C,and Bax;the autophagy-related proteins Beclin1,LC3,p62 and AKT-mTOR pathway. The results showed that phytic acid had a significant inhibitory effect with drug-dose-dependent on colorectal cancer cell HCT116;and phytic acid can inhibit colorectal cancer proliferation by inhibiting AKT-mTOR pathway to induce autophagy without apoptosis. Therefore, phytic acid activates autophagy by inhibiting the AKT-mTOR signaling pathway to inhibit the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells.
