Abstract: The chemical constituents of anthoxylum bungeanum collected in Luding County of Sichuan Province were investigated in order to develop new lead compound.Eight isobutyl amide compounds were isolated and identified from 70% hydrochloric acid extract of Z. bungeanum by silica gel column chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography.They were elucidated as zanthoxylumol A(1),hydroxy-α-sanshool(2),tetrahydrobungeanool(3),hydroxy-γ-isosanshool(4),hydroxy-γ-sanshool(5),bungeanool(6), γ-sanshool(7),isobungeol(8),and β-sitosterol(9) by high resolution mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Compound 1 was isolated from this plant for the first time.Compound 3 demonstrated good inhibitory effect on the hippocampal neuron cell line HT22 erastin-induced ferroptosis with IC50 to be 4.08 μM.
