Chemical Constituents of an Endophytic Fungus Aspergillus flavipes AIL8 obtained from Mangrove Acanthus ilicifolius

Abstract: In this study,the chemical constituents of an endophytic fungus Aspergillus flavipes AIL8 obtained from mangrove Acanthus ilicifolius were isolated and purified by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and semi-preparative HPLC.The structures of the isolated compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and comparison with literature data.Six compounds were identified as 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-((2E,6E)-3,7,11-trimethyldodeca -2,6,10-trien-1-yl)benzoic acid (1),aromatic lactone derivative (2),2,3-dihydroxypropyl decanoate (3),brassicasterol (4),7,22(E)-ergostadiene-3β,5α,6β-triol (5) and ergosterol-6,22-diene-5α,8α-epidioxy-3β-ol (6).All the 6 compounds were isolated from this strain for the first time,in which compound 1 was a new natural product.
