Abstract: In this study, the microwaveassisted extraction (MAE) of Gynostemma pentaphyllum seeds oil was optimized.Based on single factor experiments, with yield of seeds oil as index, the extraction parameters (solid/liquid ratio, microwave temperature, microwave time and microwave power) were optimized by response surface methodology (RSM).The results showed that the optimal conditions to extract oil from G.pentaphyllum seeds were as follows:solid/liquid ratio of 1:15 g/mL,microwave temperature of 59 ℃,microwave time of 14 min, microwave power of 600 W.Under these conditions, the yield of G.pentaphyllum seeds oil (GPSO) reached (42.0085±0.02)%,which was close to the predicted value (41.2459%).The result showed that the developed method was feasible and reliable.
