Abstract: In this study,the research progress of plant resources distribution,major chemical types and chemical components in different tissues of camphor tree were reviewed.Camphor tree is an important material in the subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest and special economic tree species,mainly distributed in the south of the Yangtze River,southwest provinces and southern Taiwan of China.Camphor tree not only has good quality of timber,but also is insectresistant.In addition,camphor tree is resistant to water.The root,branch,leaf,peel and fruit can be used for the extraction of camphor and camphor oil, etc. Camphor tree is the important raw material for medicine and health,chemical industry,food,perfumes.Fully understanding the research progress of camphor tree plant resources distribution and chemical composition,will lay solid theoretical and applied bases for further development and comprehensive utilization of camphor tree resources.
