Abstract: The secondary metabolites of Exophiala sp.SCSIO 05791,a fungus isolated from South China Sea 500 m depth water, were investigated.Eight compounds were obtained from the rice static fermentation products, which were purified by comprehensive chromatography methods of silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20, Ostade-cylsilane (ODS),and semi-preparative HPLC and their structures were elucidated by means of physical and chemical properties, spectroscopic analysis, and comparison with the reported literatures, which were stephacidin A(1),indole-3-acetic acid (2),cyclo(D)-Pro-(D)-Phe(3), trans-ferulic acid(4), cis-ferulic acid (5), 2-(acetylamino)-phenol (6),anthranilic acid(7) and 4-hydroxyphthalide (8).Compounds 1-8 were all obtained from genus Exophiala for the first time.
