Abstract: The genus of Chaetomium fungi, contained over 400 species, were recognized as a rich source for new drugs or its lead compounds owning to their secondary metabolites with diverse types of novel structures and prominent bioactivities.Up till now, more than 300 compounds from metabolites of Chaetomium have been discovered, including cytochalasans, azaphilones, diketopiperazines, chromones, and anthraquinones. Most of them possessed cytotoxic,anti-inflammatory,and antimicrobial activities. This paper reviewed the structures of the secondary metabolites and their biological activities from metabolites of Chaetomium in recent years from 2011 to 2016.
