Abstract: The main chemical components of Ardisia gigantifolia were phenols,quinines,sterols,coumarins,triterpenes,volatile oil,etc with main pharmacological effects including anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,antithrombotic,anticancer,etc.The present article reviewed the research progress of chemical composition and pharmacological effects of A.gigantifolia in recent years to provide theoretical evidence for the full development and utilization of this plant．
