Abstract: In order to provide references for the efficient utilization of Zanthoxylum armatum DC.waste resources, the essential oils from the branches and leaves of Zanthoxylum armatum DC.were extracted by steam distillation. The chemical constituents were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. It was found that the extraction amount of essential oils from the leaves of Zanthoxylum armatum DC.was greater than that from the branches. The main chemical constituents of branch oils were 2-Tridecanone 19.09%,9-Octadecenal-11.57%,and that of leave oils were Linalool 62.01%,2-Undecanone 9.83%.The main chemical constituents of the two essential oils had high similarity, and the 16 common chemical constituents account for 52.51% and 87.6% of the total respectively. The antiplatelet aggregation activity of essential oil against adenosine diphosphate-induced platelet aggregation was studied by platelet aggregation analyzer. It was found that leave oils could significantly inhibit platelet aggregation with an inhibition rate of 67.4% ± 24%.Therefore,in the production practice, the essential oil can be extracted from the branches and leaves of Zanthoxylum armatum DC.by mixing them.Essential oils can be developed as low cost raw materials for spices, flavors and pharmaceuticals.
