Abstract: To provide the basis and reference for further research on the comprehensive development and utilization of marigold resources.The constituents of Tagetes erecta L. in roots,stems,leaves and flowers as well as these physiological activities were reviewed.The volatile oil,thiophene,flavonoids are the main components in Marigold roots,stems and leaves.The flowers mainly contain pigment,volatile oil,flavonoids and other components.Volatile oil is a kind of compound with antibacterial and bactericidal activities,while flavonoids have good antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.Thiophene can kill plant nematodes and a variety of mosquitoes.One of the pigment lutein has a good effect on vision protection.It aims to provide the basis and reference for further research on the comprehensive development and utilization of marigold resources.
