Abstract: The aim of this research was to investigate the chemical constituents of Sorbus aucuparia suspension cell (SASC) elicited by yeast extract (YE) and their antifungal activity.13 compounds were obtained from the methanolic extracts of SASC by semi-prep.HPLC and column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20.On the basis of spectroscopic analysis, the isolated compounds were identified as eriobofuran (1),4,5-dihydroxy-3-methoxybiphenyl (2),2′-hydroxyaucuparin (3),aucuparin (4),trans-cinnamic acid (5),citrostadienol (6),β-sitosterol (7),uvaol (8),betulinic acid (9),tormentic acid (10),alphitolic acid methyl ester (11),fupenzic acid (12),and linoleic acid (13).Compounds 5-13 were isolated from SASC for the first time. Compounds 1-3,5,8 and 12 was evaluated for their antifungal activity against 15 plant pathogenic fungi and biphenyls 1 and 2 exhibited significant inhibitory effects on Physalospora piricola Nose, with MIC values of 3.13 and 6.25 μg/mL,respectively.
