Abstract:

The structure and bioactivity diversities of Aspergillus fumigatus D,an endophytic fungus derived from the fresh leaves of Edgeworthia chrysantha, have been researched.Seven secondary metabolites were purified from the corn culture medium by semi-preparative HPLC column.By a combination of spectroscopic methods including 1D NMR and MS as well as comparison with the literatures, chemical structures of these compounds were respectively identified as stemphyperylenol (1),altertoxin I (2),alterperylenol (3),maculosine (4),brevianamide F (5),cyclo (L-Pro-L-Leu) (6),2-(1H-indole-3-yl) ethyl acetate (7),of which compounds 1-3 were firstly isolated from the species A. fumigatus. In vitro antibacterial studies showed that compounds 1-7 had no significant inhibitory activity against three human pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Candida albicans) (MIC> 100 μM).

Key words: Edgeworthia chrysantha, endophytic fungus, Aspergillus fumigatus, perylenequinone
