Abstract:

Three alkaloids were isolated from the ethanol extract of Seed of Hippophae rhamnoides Linn and identified as 5-hydroxy-3-(2-Hydroxyethyl) indole (1), 5-hydroxytryptamine (2), and shepherdine (3) by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic analyses. Neonatal rat cardiocytes were cultured and model of ischemic/reperfusion (I/R) was established. The results showed three alkaloids have protective effects against the neonatal rat cardiocytes ischemia/reperfusion injured, and compounds 1 and 3 were isolated for the first time from this plant.
