Abstract:

Fifteen compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of Melastoma dodecandrum. Their structures were elucidated as 4-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3,3',4'-tri-O-methylellagic acid (1), quercetin 3-robinobioside (2), 8-C-glucopyranosyl-5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxyflavone (3), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy-4',5,7-trihydroxy flavone (4), 6-C-galactopyranosyl-4',5,7-trihydroxyflavone (5), 3-hydroxy-22(29)-hopen-23-oic acid (6), 2,3-dihydroxy-9(11)-fernen-23-oic acid (7), 3β-sitosterol laminaribioside (8), gingerglycolipid B (9), 3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside-glycerol1-alkanoates (10), daucosterol (11), β-sitosterol (12), octacosanol (13), tetracosanoic acid (14), and tetratriacontane (15) on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and comparison of their spectral data with those of reported. All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.
