Abstract: In this study, four delivery systems of gardenia iridoid glycosides (solution, gel, liposomes, nanoparticles) were prepared to study their membrane permeation characteristics by using Franz diffusion cell and fresh nasal mucosas of pigs. With geniposide as determination index, which was determined by HPLC,the results showed that the cumulative permeation quantities of four delivery systems had good linear relationships with time, which conformed to the first-order kinetic equation. The permeation rate and the apparent permeability coefficient of solution was the best, followed by gel,and finally liposomes and nanoparticles.
