Abstract: Five echinulin-type compounds, variecolorin G (1),isoechinulin A (2),isoechinulin B (3),neoechinulin E (4),neoechinulin B (5) were isolated from a marinederived fungus SCSIO 151,which was identified as Eurotium amstelodami on the basis of its 18s rDNA sequence. The structures of compounds 1-5 were elucidated by a combination of 1D NMR,2D NMR and MS techniques. This paper was the first report of echinulin-type alkaloids produced by Eurotium amstelodami SCSIO 151 fermented in solid culture medium.

Key words: Eurotium amstelodami, echinulin-type alkaloids, marine-derived fungus, secondary metabolites
