Purification of Flavonoids from Green Eggplant Leaves Using Macroporous Resin

Abstract: The optimal conditions for purifying flavonoids from green eggplant leaves using macroporous resin were studied.The absorption and desorption properties of 10 different macroporous resins for purifying flavonoids from green eggplant leaves were compared.The results showed that XDA-1 had the best adsorption and desorption performance.Furthermore,the static and dynamic absorption and desorption properties of XDA-1 on flavonoids were investigated.The optimal conditions for the separation and purification of flavonoids from green eggplant leaves were listed as follows:equilibrium adsorption time,8 hrs;concentration,2.00 mg/mL;pH,3;temperature,25 ℃;velocity of sample solution,3 BV/hrs;equilibrium desorption time,2 hrs;elution velocity,3 BV/hrs;and mobile phase solvent,using 80% aqueous ethanol (pH=3).The flavonoid content in the purified product was 2.37 times higher than that in the raw material.In conclusion,our study provided a simple and feasible purification method for purifying flavonoids from the leaves of green eggplant.
