Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of Porphyra polysaccharides on mouse fibroblast cell line NIH 3T3 exposed to ultraviolet radiation and to discuss the application of Porphyra Polysaccharides in cosmetic protecting against ultraviolet radiation.NIH 3T3 was cultured to build the model of cell lesion caused by UVA ray in vitro. MTT assay was carried out to study cell proliferation and cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry. As a result,Porphyra polysaccharides have no obvious cytotoxicity on NIH 3T3 when its concentration was 100 μg/mL or less, but with good proliferation effect; In addition,Porphyra polysaccharides can significantly decrease the G1 phase ratios and increase G2 phase ratios. Thus,it was concluded that Porphyra polysaccharides have good repairing effect on NIH 3T3 exposing to ultraviolet radiation.
