Abstract: In this study, the total contents of flavonoids and phenolic acids from different parts of Blumea balsamifera were determined using UV-Vis spectroscopic method. The free radical scavenging activity of flavonoids and phenolic acids from different parts of B.balsamifera were also determined. The correlations between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and the antioxidant activity of B.balsamifera were then analyzed. The results showed that different parts of B.balsamifera extracts had antioxidant activity within a certain concentration range.Correlation analysis indicated that total phenolic and flavonoids of B.balsamifera had a larger contribution to antioxidant activity. The total flavonoids and phenolic acid were the main antioxidant component of B.balsamifera, and of which functional and tender leaves were the main active parts.
