Abstract: The effects of aeration rate on the mycelial growth of Ganoderma lucidum G0119,specific mycelial growth rate, triterpenes production, specific triterpenes production rate, residual sugar consumption, specific residual sugar consumption rate, ammonium consumption and specific ammonium consumption rate were investigated in four parallel 5 L batch fermenters. The results revealed that the aeration rate had significant impacts on the growth of G.lucidum G0119 and production of triterpenes. The yield and productivity of triterpenes were the highest when aeration rate was 8 L/min,reached 0.204 g/L and 0.00131 g/(L·h),respectively.The maximum yield of the mycelia reached 8.77 g/L under 8 L/min at the end of the fermentation. The maximum specific mycelial growth rate, maximum specific triterpenes production rate, maximum specific residual sugar consumption rate and maximum specific ammonium consumption rate reached 0.0704,0.0256,0.562 1/h and 0.0171 1/h during the fermentation.
